Fine Art Egg with Stef Tor

We had a blast shooting with Stef the other day! We ran through a few outfits, backdrops and lighting setups, all the while Meg kept saying she had this "egg" idea. While I think Stef and I weren't entirely sure what she meant by 'egg' we let her run with it. And it was awesome. Great think'n Meg, this is one of my favorite shots from the shoot.

OK, so once I start I just can't stop. Another fun little mix from Animoto. I highly recommend checking these guys out, you can do 30 sec. shorts for free and they are uber easy to do. These photos Megan took while she was in Philly of the very adorable Mike and Vanessa for their engagement session.

Family

We just can't say enough good things about the Letchworth family. Meg and I moved 1,600 miles away from everything and everyone we knew a little over a year ago and without Josh, Dana, Brett and the rest of the fam I don't know where we'd be. They're like our family away from home.

They helped us find our first apartment, find our way around town, lending us gear, guiding and inspiring us on our photographic journey, and so much more. Thanks for everything so far, we truly appreciate it. Here are some of my favorite shots from Carol & Jerry's Wedding.

Fun in The Sun

Nothing quite like a day on the water, especially one where you get to play all day. And play we did.

Being a digital kid, I'm fascinated with film, the idea of being able to hold something tangible is awesome. Also the fact that the lab does all the processing is pretty sweet too. Thanks to the gracious Josh Letchworth (who has let me borrow this camera for a VERY long time) and the guidance of Meg, I've been able play with the F5 to shoot film which has been a blast. A week ago I went downtown and started a roll of delta 3200 and finished it on the water in the housing. So the black and whites are the delta 3200 the color scan is velvia 50 and the other color shots of the boat are digital.

We at Carrie Marine have been teaming up with a great photographer named Jessica Leigh. It is always nice to meet other talented photographers, but to work side by side with one is a treat! LENS B A B Y ! ! !

Instead of spending our free time in Philadelphia blogging, we spent it being tourists. Hence, the delay. This is Dee and Sri, we photographed them on Saturday the 30th, the day before their one year wedding anniversary! Super fun! We met up with them at the Valley Forge historic site and photographed at a few locations on the grounds. The park just happens to be one of Sri's favorite places, which made it extra special. Just as a side note, it is GORGEOUS out there, if you're ever in the area I highly suggest checking it out.

This shoot also made me remember how much I LOVE the lensbaby and how I don't think we use it often enough. The first shot in the upper left is done with a lensbaby, if you're a photographer and you don't have one, get one. They're super cheap and I'm pretty sure they'll change you're life! It's basically a tilt shift lens that allows for a spot of the frame to be in focus and everything else just falls off. They are pretty difficult to hit focus with but when you do, the results are amazing!

Our other portrait scheduled for the morning canceled last minute due to a family emergency. Our thoughts are with you guys.

Happy Snaps

Sweet! Our first legit post. I'm pretty disappointed in the airport wifi, Meg and I were hoping to post these while in the airport, for that live effect. We did shoot, process, and write this post while waiting in the airport, if that counts for anything. Even though we have $15,000 worth of photo equipment in tow, we shot these with our happy snaps.

We are currently waiting at gate 53 in the Orlando Airport for our flight to Philadelphia. We have two portrait sessions booked for tomorrow and a wedding on Sunday. We'll keep you all posted throughout the weekend on our travels and shoots. Today being Friday we are looking forward to some fun today (we land at roughly noon, we're boarding in about 5 min (10:05 departure). Gotta run, will post this when we get unpacked in Philly. Stay tuned!
